Wow, how life has changed. I wish I could have kept up on the blog more in the past month, but I can barely catch my breath most days. Being back to work has proved quite the challenge while trying to maintain a household and my sanity all at the same time! I haven't been able to remove myself quite as much as I would like from the day to day operations, but I have managed to find time to make more networking meetings...how I still haven't figured out. I couldn't do any of it without my husband, though. What a trooper! He has been so supportive of everything even through my unexplainable hormonal breakdowns, which, yes, are still taking place from time to time!
We had a great time for Halloween this year. The girls dressed as a bumblebee and a lobster and Jack chose his own costume and went as SpiderMan this year. We went to our immediate neighbors and then left our neighborhood and went to Scott and Jenny's house for a potluck dinner followed by trick or treating. Scott loves Halloween as much, maybe even more, than I do and the house and yard were decorated to the nines, which, scared the begeebees out of poor Jack. He wanted nothing to do with any of it an begged for us to take him home. After convincing him he was safe and we could run past it all with his eyes closed he managed to get the hang of things by the third or so house and then...there was no stopping him! He had a blast and I had just as much fun watching him enjoy himself and take pride in every new addition to his growing treasure. The girls stayed back, as the weather was colder than we wanted them out in, but Grams and Grampa didn't seem to mind staying in where it was warm and nuzzle with the babes.
They are getting so big. Both are now "supported sitters" and just about ready to start adding cereal to their diet. Brandon and I are hoping this may also help them start to sleep through the night. I have also suggested we secure their evening routine and gear it more towards an actual "bed time" and not just putting them to sleep. We have also agreed to let them try to soothe themselves back to sleep as they first wake up in the middle of the night instead of rushing right to them. Maybe, just maybe these few new changes will work and I will actually see a full nights sleep again in my future soon!
We are also now counting down the days until we leave for our Florida vacation. We are going to Tampa to see my family for Thanksgiving, and yes, we are driving. I know, I know, but I don't think there is a shot of us handling a flight!! Lots of snacks and movies and we'll be fine...
