2 months, 5 days

The girls went back to the pediatrician on Monday for their 2 month wellness check. Kate weighed in at 9lbs, 6oz and Olivia is 9lbs, 3oz and both are 21 3/4 inches long. Kate is still holding that 3 ounce lead! They are at the point now where they can focus on your face and smile at what you say. Olivia tries to "talk" to you, as well, and gets so proud of herself when she manages to get a sound out! They are so similar but so different, it is strange.
I had to go back to work on Tuesday and it was really a lot harder than I thought it would be. I didn't expect it to be so emotional, I guess, since I had already gone through it with Jack. But, it was just as hard. The guilt, the separation anxiety, all of it. I felt like I literally left a piece of my heart, or three!, behind that day. It even made dropping Jack off more difficult and I have been doing that for 2 years plus now! I have to say, it does make the end of my work day that much more exciting, but the day itself was painfully long. Never mind the fact that I had my BNI meeting that started at 7:30am, so it was a long day anyway. Then, Wednesday was no better, as we had an event that started at 8:00am, so again, I was up at 5:00am that day too, and it didn't end until late that afternoon. But, here I am on Friday and working from home.
That is more of my plan now. I am looking to take myself out of the daily operations and focus on clients, advertising, and networking. I will still be in the kitchen from time to time, but not everyday like I used to be over the last 3 1/2 years. I am back just in time for fall wedding season as we roll into October, which means I can pretty much kiss my weekends goodbye again. But, it is a "problem" I will not complain about in this economy. Everyday we stay open and continue forward is a blessing and I am thankful for it.
