really?!?

So many things have happened in 6+ months...for starters, it is 2012 (really?!?), February already and 60 degrees outside (really?!?). My son is 5 years old now (REALLY?!?) and growing at an alarming rate (well, at least to his Dad and I). I mean, the boy ate 4, yes 4, homemade tacos at dinner the other night along with his black beans and yellow rice!!! I almost fell over when he asked for more the third time!! I am not so much worried about being able to afford feeding him as I am clothing him if he keeps jumping through sizes the way he does!
The girls are 2 1/2 now, and we are in the pretty successful middle stages of potty training (it has been much more challenging with two at a time, though they do feed off each other, which seems to help sometimes). Their personalities are really starting to shine now, too. Kate is quite the princess always concerned with boo boos and her hands not being dirty or the fact that she constantly has "snots" running out her nose and needs a tissue. Olivia, on the other hand, loves to stick her finger in any dirt hole she can find waiting and wanting for something to crawl out of it, constantly yelling at a sibling or parent for something that 'she will do' or get, but still won't give up her thumb sucking. Kate has a much clearer vocabulary and isn't afraid to use it, but Olivia is definitely much more independent and is taking to the potty training quicker and more consistently than her counterpart.
We survived another trip to Florida this past year. We ventured for Christmas instead of Thanksgiving, and oh, what a treat that was! 2 out of 3 kids got car sick and vomited multiple times in the car on the way down. Needless to say, we spoke to the pediatrician and got chewable Dramamine for the trip back and will never travel without it again! We made it, though, and the kids even got a visit from Ole Saint Nick himself early Christmas Eve before dinner. The look on their faces when he pulled out the letters they had sent to the North Pole is something I will never forget!
