35 weeks, 1 day

So, here we are, two weeks to the day from when we are supposed to be induced and we find out that since our visit on the 26th of June, I have dilated to 2-3 centimeters. Now, I could easily stay this way for the full two weeks and still have to be induced, but my doctor seems to think it is more likely that I will go into labor sooner. Between the contractions I have been having lately and the big jump from no dilation to almost 3 centimeters in one week, she says if she was a betting woman, her money is on the chance we won't make it to the 20th. So much for plans!
Though I have been hoping for this news, well, at least part of me has, I am now not sure how I feel about having it. Brandon went into panic mode in the doctor's office full of questions for Dr Dutton. He is truly not ready. The girls are fully developed, at a good weight, so there is very little concern about their condition should we happen to go early. At this point, they are just adding fat to their tiny bodies to help them regulate body temperature. All of the organs and systems are developed, so I don't really worry about that aspect. It's just that, Jack's furniture is so close, but still not finished for his new room, so I don't have him moved yet. Which also means the spare room where my mom will stay is not put together. We are supposed to have our baby shower this coming Sunday, so we have to at least make it past that.
I guess what I am saying is my body is so very ready for the girls to be born, but the rest of me needs a little more time! Not too much, just a little, a couple of weeks. Dr Dutton is having a dual birthday party for her children next Saturday, so she won't be available to deliver them then, which makes me crazy nervous. It has to be her!! She is who I trust the most with this. She will keep me sane through this. It has to be her!!

  1. Those last three weeks are the worst, but rest assured that you will immediately feel better (and lighter) here soon! Are they both still head down? Kerrick flipped around last minute, which is crazy to think that he even had enough room to do that! Keep me posted!
