Well, all of our upstairs progress came to a screeching halt on Monday. Back on the 19th of May, we had an HVAC company come out and inspect, clean, charge and run a leak detection on our AC unit for the spring. They told us there was a small leak in the condensation coils and that by next spring, the unit would most likely have to be replaced. On Monday (12 days later, mind you), Brandon came home from work to a house reading 84 degrees F and no air what so ever blowing from any of our vents inside the house. It was 90 degrees outside and he has a wife pregnant with twins due home any minute, so you can imagine the pure panic he experienced at that very moment. We called the company we had just had out to look at the unit less than 2 weeks ago, and they were there first thing Tuesday morning...with no good news. The AC unit was going to have to be replaced, period. Well, we just put tires on my car, spent a decent amount of money servicing the old unit, still had to order the carpet for the upstairs bedrooms, and now needed a new AC unit. Does it ever end?! So, we did what we had to do and a new unit was installed yesterday. Like Brandon said..."what's the point of looking for a newer house to move into now? We put in new windows, remodeled the bathroom and kitchen, renovated upstairs, replaced the AC unit and by next year will have to replace the furnace as well. Everything will practically be brand new, so why bother moving???
The carpet has been ordered and should be in and ready to install by mid month. We see Dr Clark on Tuesday, who is going to remind us (not that we need it) that there are anywhere from 3-7 weeks left before the girls get here. Yep, 3-7 weeks!! 3 weeks puts us at 34 weeks which is the earliest they like to deliver twins and 7 weeks puts us at 38 weeks, which is the longest they will allow me to go. Oh, man! Part of me is like, "girls, stay put as long as you possibly can, and I mean all 38 weeks when I say that" and the other part is like, "okay, I am about done with the leg cramps, overheating, round ligament pain, back pain and just plain overall sharing of my body, so let's get this show on the road already!" Then, reality sets in and we are just not even close to ready for them to come home yet, though I don't think even when the nursery is finished and put together we'll really be ready!
The latest is the "new" round ligament pain I've been experiencing. I am used to the ones at the bottom of my abdomen that feel intense and ache through my hips, but earlier this week I had this spot on the top of my belly just slightly left of center that the only way I can describe it is a "burning, ripping sensation under my skin". Lovely. It started to make me nervous it got so bad that I called my doctor yesterday just to make sure it wasn't something more serious than just stretching. She said, nope, she was pretty sure it was just round ligament pain and my body being stretched literally, to its limits!
Oh, the joys...
