quiet time

Our children are asleep, Brandon is at class (pursing his Masters), and the dog is curled up on the couch. The only noise I hear is the hum of the washing machine downstairs and an occasional bark from the dog two houses down. It's eerie. I am not used to this much "quiet"...it doesn't happen often anymore.
None the less, I'll take it. I need it. It has been a stressful couple of weeks, but it is almost over. Our follow up appointments for Olivia to determine if the fluid was the only cause of her hearing loss are next week and the week after and that will put a lot of my worry to rest.
I am also trying to find new ways to market my business, trying to relocate it, and making other business decisions all of which have been weighing heavy on my mind. This economy has been tough on the masses, I know, but as a small business owner...whew, I am ready for it to rebound!
I look at my family everyday and thank God they are healthy, happy, fed, sheltered and loved. I try to remember that above all else, that is what is important and not much of anything else.
